Measuring approximately 3,893 km2, Murchison Falls National Park stands out as Uganda’s largest National Park. The Park boasts tourist attractions such as the famous Murchison Falls, 76 species of mammals as well as Uganda’s largest population of Nile crocodiles, and 450 bird species – ranging from water birds, including the rare shoe-billed stork, the dwarf kingfisher, the Goliath heron, white-thighed hornbill and the great blue turaco, with the protected area of the park considered a Lion Conservation Unit
