Situated in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with South Sudan and Kenya 700 km from Kampala, Kidepo Valley National Park is Uganda’s most isolated National Park. However, those who make the long journey north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja would agree that it is the most magnificent and ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. The Park has a profusion of big game and hosts over 88 mammal species including spotted hyena, lion, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, giraffe, leopard, Zebra, the African buffalo, bat-eared foxes, Rothschild’s giraffe, as well as around 500 bird species.
